Hi
OH and I were wondering if people tip or not at weddings? I've looked online and its pretty much said if you want to, and in America its expected, but I think its expected over here to now.
What is everyone else doing/done?
Who are you tipping and how much? Or are you deciding on the day?
Thanks

We tipped the venue staff £100. But it was a small venue and we dealt with the staff from start to finish and knew it would go direct to them.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0

Personally i think were paying enough and wouldnt tip unless something extraordinary happens but its up to you0

I worked weddings at a hotel and it was always nice to receive a tip at the end of the night.
I tipped everyone who worked at my wedding. The make up artist and hair dresser got £10 and a bottle of prosseco.
We tipped our piper and gave the venue staff enough so each person got £10 as we were so impressed with their attention to detail their level of service and just their general attitude during the whole processFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
I've not heard of this and won't be tipping anyone. I don't usually tip in restaurants either so no different than usual.Married 30/08/14 :heartpuls0

I would only tip if someone did something above or exceptional for what I would expect for their job. Any rudeness, bad manners or plain un civilness and not a chance! Maybe I'm a little harsh but I certainly don't do it as "the norm" and neither do any of my friends. Hope your day goes well :-)0

I've got no plans to tip anyone, I can't afford to! If anyone did anything exceptional then I may do, but don't believe in tipping someone for something I have already paid for0

I won't be tipping anyone; we've kept our budget within our means and it's stretched as it is. As far as I'm concerned, if I've paid for a service then I get that service. I'm not paying any more for someone doing what we've agreed a price for. If someone made a choice to do something over and above what we've paid for, then I'm afraid it's hard luck. I'm not paying for something I never agreed to.0
