Cross-trainer recommendations please

Hello,
I need to buy a new cross-trainer as my old one is on its last legs. I have never been happy with the old one as it 'wobbled' too much upon use.
I have a budget of around £900, maybe a bit more, but for this money I except the machine to last quite few years of daily use. (I live in a rural area so no gym near me).
I need a machine to :
- Be sturdy. I have major problems with my left leg and so I need the machine to be stable.
- A good make that will last.
- One that is quiet to use so that I do not wake everyone up in a morning.
Due to previous injuries the machine really has to be a cross-trainer as it is the only exercise I can do. Also, I can be flexible on budget as I need to try and do some form of exercise to stay fit and so I might have to pay a bit more for the right machine.
Any suggestions.
Thanks,
Spider.
