HELP debt that isnt mine

Hi guys, new to this, I have tried to keep it short.
About 8 months ago I started receiving letters from a debt collection company called MOORCROFT, about a £1771 debt from LLYODS TSB
( I HAVE NEVER BANKED WITH LLYODS!!)
I phoned MOORCROFT and they wanted me to send them ID, to which I refused, and the letters kept coming. Even with a home visit from them.
I then went to LLYODS BANK reception with my ID, and after about an hour of phone calls confirmed there had been a mis trace on my name and D.O.B by MOORCROFT, and I would be taken from there system and receive no more contact.
Well this didnt work and the letters kept coming....
Now very stressed and annoyed I printed a letter of formal complaint and notice of disassociation off the net and sent it recorded delivery to MOORCROFT. This didn't work either and they sent more letters. (which I am sure is illegal) ?
So today a little annoyed I went back to LLYODS (for the 3rdtime) telling the bank manager I want this cr*p sorting NOW and want compensating or I start legal proceedings.
The bank manager got on her computer, told me there had been a mistrace, then contacted MOORCROFT (AGAIN)..... then went off to make further phone calls..
after a while she came back saying MOORCROFT will send me a letter stating I am no longer on there system, and offered me £50 costs and £100 for stress caused to settle the matter now!!! and I have 48hours to get back to her or take it further.
Personally, I think £150 for 8 or so months of stress is a pi**take. And who's to say it will actually stop this time? I cant afford a solicitor but think I deserve more.
Any advise appreciated. Thanks for reading.

If its properly sorted now I think I would take the £150. Not a a bad return for a few hours of being able to justifiably lay into bank staff.
I have met a few staff from banks I would happily pay £150 for the chance to yell at them for an hour!
More seriously though, make sure you get something in writing from the bank saying you are not liable for the debt AS WELL AS your £150. don't just accept waiting for a letter from the DCA as they wont care if they cant give you griefCHALLENGES MAR'14:

Have you checked to see if Moorcroft have put anything on your CRA files?0
-
First off I would check all 3 credit files and check what is on there.
If there is something incorrect then you will need to challenge it.
With regards to Moorcroft I would complain in writing if they persist. I'd also complain in writing to whoever they claim the debt is from.
As you apparently have had confirmation that they (Lloyds) are in the wrong I would at least like it in writing.
I'm not sure on the compensation to be honest, I think any compensation is a bonus (but that's up to you).

thanks for replying guys.
I checked the free trial on my experian report a few months back, there was nothing on there about it.
what are the other 2 credit files? and are they free?
What is DCA?
I think I am going to try settle this tomorrow, so what exactly should I ask for in writing from LLYODS?0 -

Put it in writing to DCA saying youre not the person, you never been with lloyds, this alledged debt never exist, if they carry on or put bad credit rating on the file you will report them to OFT.
read this DCA are not allowed to pursue you unless you are the right person.
read section 3.7 e and f

In the end if it was me I would'nt care about there money aslong as they leave me alone.0 -
Yes dinky201, I did send DCA a letter of formal complaint and notice of disassociation, and told them id never even had an account with Lloyds. (still didn't stop them )
