Hi
Let me tell you my story.........
I have my electric with npower and i have not been able to pay them on my direct debit for the last 2 months. Today i have had a notice of intent to apply for a warrant of entry. I rang them up and told them i can pay half of my bill owed next Friday the 22nd June which they said would be acceptable
But they also said they could do nothing to stop the warrant until i pay some money. I told them that next friday is payday for me and i will pay them then. They still said they could do nothing and could not hold any action on the account until they recieve some money from me.
I suppose my question is if anyone know, how long does it take to get a warrant of entry. Do i have at least 7 days or are they pretty quick with these things.
The intent to apply for a warrant of entry is to enter my house and fit a pre paid meter which i dont want as i can pay my bill next Friday with no problems.
Hope that makes sense!!
Thank you

I understand what you mean.
Do you have ANY money , even a tenner to pay this now? Cos that should stop the warrant. Im sorry I dont know how long they take, but from what I can remmeber about my own bailiffs type bahaviour there were charges galore involved, so if you can call off the dogs now, then this might reuce any potential charges coming in the future.
I know how you feel Ive been budgeting one amount for the electric but I got a bill for something much higher and I had to clean out my account to pay it, meaning the council tax wont get paid this month- although I will be able to give them *something* :wall::beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
They want £80 and thats all they will accept i only have £70 in my account to get me through until next Friday anyway. I'm going to phone them first thing next friday and pay them. I'm just worried that in the next 7 days they will come round and fit the stupid meter thing.0

Tigtag - please don't worry. A notice of intention to apply for a warrant is exactly that. They will apply for a warrant and a court date will be set. MIne was set for a month down the line. I managed to pay them the day before the court hearing.
If you can pay them next week you should be okay.. Their action seems a little harsh however for such a small amount - I owed £800!!Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Have you tried ringing the (I think its called) care team at Npower. We had the same problem a year or so back and I called them and they sorted out a DD again with no problems etc. They may be able to help just to delay it a bit, not sure, but might be worth a try as its a freephone number and they are there to help resolve all problems etc

HTH and good luck xx0 -
why not pay them £30 of the £70 you have then next week you can pay the rest that should keep them sweet. A man once turned up at my door to turn off the supply from npower and i said to him i did not know what he was talking about and i had paid. He said ok and went.Make £11,000 in 2011 / ebay £6000
