    My concern isn't my income, I am confident that the information I provided halifax is correct and I know we can afford the repayments.

    It was the credit check my thread is about

    Okay, well see if you can get a reply off someone with more knowledge on credit than me :)

    I imagine it will always be a case by case situation.. do Halifax think it will be a problem, a qualified mortgage advisor would probably know from experience.

    Well I didn't actually speak to the advisor about it, he kind of rushed through the initial application and the explained that this only included a 'soft' search and that we would go into more detail when I had an offer accepted.

    With Halifax all you can do is chance it.

    The soft-search "Mortgage Promise" doesn't pick up historic adverse at previous addresses, so you may find you pass now, but fail at full application.

    TBH you have to find a property and agree to buy it before you can find out if it's a goer.
