Mortgage Fee's ??

I've just had a cold call from a company called Fusion Financial Auditors, they waffled on about mortgages being mis sold and money able to be claimed back yadda yadda... couldn't find anything from a google search on the company but was given their web site as http://ffa.uk.com/

Now I expect they are another con compant and I told them where they could go!

But Is there a reclaim for any mortgages?
When I bought my 1st home the broker was adamant the only way it could be done was with a 25% deposit and self certification
(I was 21 earning about £14k and buying a property value of £100k)

thanks folks
Dedicated wife and mother... and now financial controller lol
Its a long road, but I will make it there in the end

    No. But there are plenty of scams

    And do you have any problem with that?
    If it is wrong, are you willing to admit to the lender that you committed fraud (even if you were encouraged to do so) and be put on the fraud register and find yourself unable to get mortgages or other credit in future?

    The only real area of major concern are those that were sold sub prime mortgages who would have qualified for prime mortgages. For those that bent the truth or out and out told lies to get a mortgage, you stand to lose more than you gain.

    Most of these cold calling scams have an upfront fee. That is where they make their money.

    as I thought just an out and out con. I no longer hold that mortgage sold the house and paid it off in full 5 years ago now.

    Thank you

  • I had a call allegedly from them today - want CC details over the phone, which I wouldn't give, for an upfront fee.

    They seemed to know a lot about the mortgage I once had and reckon I can claim 5k because there would have been a hidden brokerage commission to the IFA. Which is a new one on me, but I guess not impossible. [I never bought PPI, as always thought it was a con.]

    First question I guess is is the call from the company it claims - I think maybe 80% sure it is. The call came through as the number on their (one page) website, when I said I would call back with payment details if I wanted to proceed he gave me a different number, but searching that number shows it _has_ been used by an associated company.

    On the other hand caller tried to tell me that on 033 number was a "fully traceable bt landline" though (when I know its a national rate can be routed to anywhere and probably voip, and CLI is easily faked). Secondly he talked me through checking registration on MOJ website, which puts up a nice popup scam warning saying never pay over the phone on basis of the reg. number... The caller tried to get me to "just click the warning about foreign companies". I read it in full anyway, and besides which since he's claiming to be in Wales he _is_ foreign... :)

    Second question is _if_ it really is that company calling, and they are registered with MOJ as claims handler etc., then who are they, and are they any good.

    Looks like these guys are in fact a new trading name for "Fusion Consumer Solutions" - same limited company and MOJ registration behind it.

    Very little on the internet on "Fusion Financial Auditors", but plenty on "Fusion Consumer Solutions", most of it not good.

    If it _is_ them calling, then I think they are breaking MOJ code of conduct left right and centre:
    Authorised CMCs must follow the requirements of the conduct rules. For example, they must:
    give you written information about the service before a contract is agreed;

    Nope - asked to pay before anything written
    advise you unambiguously of ombudsman schemes or other official means of obtaining redress;

    Must have slipped his mind...
    allow a ‘cooling off’ period of 14 days; and

    Oops, forgot that one too...
    operate a consumer complaints scheme

    And that. No info on website either.

    Summary: probably was the company in question, probably not one I want to deal with, and annoyed I wasted as much time as I did and confirmed personal details for them.

    Your mortgage details are in the public domain. They can get lists of who you borrowed money with. However, you cant claim back commission. Plus, the amount they state is total BS. Mortgage commission is about 0.2% of amount borrowed.

  • It's a scam, there are a load of posts about it today. Who your mortgage is/was with is on the land registry as a charge so anyone can get it for £3.

    Bulk buying lists is even cheaper than £3.
