Blood Pressure Monitors

I'm looking for assistance from somebody who has "Which" membership.

I have been advised by the Dr to invest in a blood pressure monitor and have found a reference on Which website for the best and the worst. I really need to know which are the five to avoid, so wonder if anyone would be kind enough to check for me please?

If you mean a general tester, not one you wear all the time go for an Omron. They are what our doctors use and were recommended to us.

Cheapest on Amazon is about £18, there are more expensive ones which store records etc, but a pen and paper will suffice!

When I bought one, my GP recommended an upper arm tester rather than the wrist models.

I bought one of the basic Omron models from Asda pharmacy when they were on offer for £10 and it's fantastic.

My surgery insists on only accepting readings from approved devices. I therefore suggest you see if your surgery is the same.

Thank you - just the info I needed. I'd put the Omron Basic in my Amazon basket - just wanted to make sure it wasn't one of the five to avoid. Surgery recommended Lloyds & Omron.
