It's when there is a RC that is a link you follow to a different page away from the blog that I linked to this time. I think that could be the problem.

Not entirely your fault hun, the blogger has edited the post and hasn't / forgotten to add the Rafflecopter code in HTML on their blog - I've done it before now, and entered a few comps that have also done it, I was just polite enough to go through their blog page though :o

I think the issue is you've posted a link for people to go direct to the rafflecopter form completely bypassing the review and post.

    I agree.

As mentioned already, bloggers sometimes hold comps to get their views up, I actually hold them as a way to thank my readers, as many others do. But the way it was completely took the blog out of it. As I said, not entirely your fault :)
    Thanks to all posters :A

I've spoken to PinkOddy whose blog it is and she says she's happy for people to post the link to the blog post featuring the giveaway and for people to then go to the rafflecopter from that page.

So as long as you don't direct link to rafflecopter your fine.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I have posted a different blog RC tonight that has the same set up the RC being on a different page & have typed in red please do not post a direct link to the rafflecopter

So if people who post RC's with the rafflecopter widget on a different page do the same hopefully no one else will get upset

If anyone see's someone who has posted a direct link which takes you away from the blog can you link them to this & ask them to take it off

Hi, I'm reading this thread with interest as both a comper and a blogger.

Thanks so much for your understanding. Linking to the blog post rather than the Rafflecopter url would be a great help. More and more brands are now asking for stats on page views etc to evaluate how well a campaign has gone, they also measure click-throughs from the blog to their site as you know.

Without the traffic I suspect the corporate offers of giveaway prizes will soon dry up so it's really in everyone's best interests that people continue to visit the blogs.

Rafflecopter has been a bit gitchy lately, and even with the code properly installed, on occasions it's showing the url link rather than the widget being properly embedded.

Comp poster's help is much appreciated and hopefully we'll be able to continue to offer great prizes and compers will continue to visit blogs :)

I tend now to use the term "short link" eg: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4779818

It is just a link that is not tied to any entrant by any means so we can enter on our own behalf.

    I suppose you could :-)

Or enter via the long link & probably disqualify your entry as it will be tied to others.
