Been to Asda this morning and they asked for my postcode, but not my house number.

They probably want to know the catchment area of customers for advertising purposes.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

It would help if we knew more
Did you go into a store or onto their web site?
If in store was someone at the door asking as you went in, were you asked at the till, or did a random employee just walk up to you in the veg section and ask for your postcode.0 -
They want to know how far you have travelled
You can always refuse to give itNO MORE HANDWASH GLITCHES PLEASE:D

I was asked and said 'why?'. Apparently to do with working out areas people come from. I never gave mine in the end.0 -
Probably just customer research... How far people come to shop or whatever, I've had this with several shops, apparently they have to do it for head office every now and againBroke Student :beer:0

Sometimes they lay on free buses as a result of these surveys..............0

I work in Asda the reason they do it is to see how far people travel and from which areas so they can target other areas etc the till comes up with the question we do the survey about every six months and if we don't collect enough postcodes we have to redo it again0

Its also to find out how far people travel to get to that store.
Also it helps them do research in to potentially areas for new stores...Work to live= not live to work0
