hi..a question for computer whizzes--my computer crashed a week ago....we reinstalled windows but lost everything....so now when i enter some comps a window pops up saying i need adobe flash player?..this never happened before...so obviously..it was on the computer before...so where do i install this adobe?? is it free....me and dh are not very computer wise:o i ,M missing out on some comps:eek: cos i don,t have it ---HHHEEEELP!!

i did type adobe into google and tried to download it..it said it had downloaded it straight away which was odd ..but its not showing on my desktop or in programs?

which comps is it saying that for? I have no problems but think I might have a free version of flash soemwhere on my computer lurking about!

when you ask it to download dont you have the option to save it to a certain place on the computer? might be worth asking over in the techie threads as they are whizzes on stuff like that!

Hiya Honey


Adobe Flash Player is what makes you see the pictures and animations on web pages ( the other one you may need is Java)


You can download the Flash Player HERE


You won't see it as an icon on your desktop and it buries itself somewhere in your documents and settings as its part of what helps the computer run.


Basically if you have downloaded it, it should be there so try going on a website with animations, if not redownload it and I think (although it may be Java that does it) once its installed Adobe give you a test screen... a little animation will appear to show that its downloaded and working

thankyou hjb123, littleholly,and kipper----i think i managed to download it this time-thanx to littleholly,s..link..although i didn,t realize you didn,t see it on desktop{thanx kipper}......so i just tried shrek comp..which i couldn,t enter yesterday..and it was fine now:j ...so i think it was a success

What is the best way to enter all those competitions who want an e mail?
I don't use outlook express as we've never set it up properly and I'm not sure how so I use AOL. i keep it open in the background and I followed someone's suggestion to save a draft of my details, but the minute I use it the draft disappears so I have to start all over again!
Any ideas as I particularly want it for the bump to grump comps as there seem to be loads of them...

I don't use outlook express, just good old fashioned hotmail! I've created a wordpad document with my name, address and phone number on and when it comes to email comps I just open the document and c&p my details. Saves so much time instead of having to retype everything for each email.

ive made my name and address as a signature so all my details are sent with emails straight away with no copying and pasting involved
