Help with Mortgage Broker

Please give me some advice.
We are 1st time buyers and went to Alexander Hall for brokering the mortgage: the following has happened and we want to know if they have acted illegally/ in a way we could claim against them...
1: they advised a mortgage with a lender that took 4 months to approve the mortgage as they wanted so much background info: we lost the house.
2: we found a second house, they advised us to stick with the same lender as it 'would be quicker this time'. they then forgot to post the application: this meant there was a 2 week delay.
3: they miscommunicated the survey date to us: adding another months delay.
4: they failed to tell us when documents we said we had sent them did not arrive (we suspect they did arrive but they lost them - we cant prove this)
They have of course taken their fee: we are in danger of losing the second house now because of their delays: we want to get our money back from them but we also want them to try and save this house sale as we really don't want it to fall through again, as it stands we have a survey booked next week (3 months after the offer was accepted!).
any advice is much appreciated.

Illegally I suspect not.
In a way that gives you a valid complaint possibly.
All you need to do is tell them you wish to raise a complaint and they will have to investigate your concerns.I am a Mortgage Broker

Alexander Hall has an atrocious service. The mortgage advisor was very keen to get my details quickly as 'time was of essence'. He said I'd hear from him the next day which never happened. I left a message and then email the following day, but nothing.
I called and lady who answered the phone said he was away for a week - she did not say anything else and sounded very disinterested. I had to ask for someone else to call me back and I never received an apology.
The next day I found another very helpful company and was happy to dump Alexander Hall before they even started with my application. I suspect it would have been a nightmare to deal with them judging by the service (or deservice) I got from the outset.0 -
As amnblog says, give them a call/email/letter advising your making a complaint.
Explain what has happened, the problems it has caused, any financial loss you have had. Give them chance to investigate.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
