Leaving job after promotion

I recently got a modest promotion, but I have been interviewing at other places as well. If I get an offer from somewhere else, is there anything my employer can do about me leaving so soon after accepting a new job?

No, you are free to leave any job you wish at any time subject to reasonable notice period.

As above what do you think they would do ?

No, the fact you have had a promotion has no bearing on anything, as long give the correct notice as per the contract you will be fine.

I don't know! Sue me for the costs of recruiting? I take it from your responses that I'm being just being paranoid?

They can legally refuse to give a reference for you and they'd be a bit peeved if you left very soon after a promotion but other than that...not alot.
Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked

Not bothered about the second unless it leads to the first. I have more reason to be peeved than they do!
