  • Thank you Helen - I thought that as well. I remember when I was living on my own I used to spend up to £50/month when it comes to food and up to £500/month for all expenses, and I wasn't in debt. Once I got into debt it all spiralled out of control.

As TF suggested, I'm trying the October challenge. Not going to be able to save £10/day but have my own alternative to and gonna try stick to that.

I do buy value range for some things, including for the pet dry food. But I'm quite loyal to S*insburys and after reading around on the forum, I do realise that's gonna have to go. I've boormarked the mysupermarket page and will stick with it everytime we go shopping.

I've got a question - does anyone else think going to £land is usually a waste of money? I think it is because what you can get for a £1 at £land is available for less than that in places like A1di. But M is stubborn and is greatly convinced going to £land is the best deal. Opinions anyone?
  • Managed to nearly get an NSD today. Was aiming for an NSD but failed but at least managed to reduce my travel costs by 75% so I'm thankful for that.

Also got some coupons in the post from Sainsburys. £3 off next shops but there's no min spend on them as there usually is which is great.

Here's to making good use of them.
  • Noticed on Mon after I went to S*insburys that I now had less points on my nect*r card than I had after I went there last Thu. And no, I've not spend any points in the meantime.

Will wait till next time I shop to see if the 3 shops add up to what it should be as I know they claim it takes up to 48 hrs for the balance to update. Even so, there's more than 48 hrs Thu to Mon and it doesn't make a lot of sense for points to be there on Thu, and not be there anymore the following Mon.

Hope it does add up ok. I'll raise it up with them if it doesn't but if that's the case it just makes me wonder how many times in the past has this happened. I've always had a rough idea of how much I've had on the nect*r card but for example, after last Thu's shop I had £80, after this Mon's shop I only had £79. As a rough idea I would've never normally noticed that. I only noticed it this time because I had 3 vouchers for extra points for last Thu's shop and so I kept track of the points to make sure they've added the points.

Oh well, so much for being loyal to a brand...
  • Another nearly NSD today but not quite yet again.

Managed to keep up with reduced travelling costs though which is always good.
