Hi everyone, i currently have a £60k mortgage with NWBS fixed at 5.44 for 5 years at £414 p/m, i have just set up overpayments of £15 a week just to make sure it works then i will increase to £25 per week.
What i would like to know is there anything i can do at home to earn a few more pennies, after tea we usually sit watching tv so thought i might be good if we could do something together like filling envelopes but i am unsure where to start looking and dont wanna get conned or lay out money.
Just wondered if anyone had any ideas? I live in Hull, East Yorkshire if that helps?
Regards
Dave

Not really done any of the stuff you mentioned but I would highly recommend using cashback sites if you don't already. My favourite is Quidco and basically you get paid for shopping that you would have done already, by this I mean you go to Quidco first and use their link instead of going direct to the website. They get paid commission for referring you and they then give you some of it (or all, not sure). Example, just joined direct line car insurance and got £60 by simply going through Quidco first. I joined Quidco in November 2006 and have already got £227 in cash back into my bank account.
Another area is matched betting. Ok I'm still trying to get to grips with it but my best friend (who lives on here) has been doing it for nearly 12 months and LOVES it!. Have a look at the Gambling intro offer thread on this site (warning not for everyone but certainly free money to be had!).
Hope this helps and all the best.Regards,
 Dave

Thanks for your reply, i dont tend to buy much at all throught the internet so with quidco be worth me doing? Most of our spending is done at petrol stations, Asda, and the usual clothes shops like Next etc. So im unsure if i would benefit from it?
I will have a read through the gambling part, is it guaranteed money, i guess you have to have self control?0

That’s what I thought, you'll be surprised. Do you buy insurances online, I guess so as they are much cheaper.
In my case, car insurances x 2 a year. Buildings and contents insurance (do separate for 2 cashbacks) x1 at year. Change utility supplier x 1 at year and again via cashback. Get a new back account or credit card etc etc.
Nothing to stop you NOT renewing your insurance and then joining up with the same or different company again via Quidco. At least your making sure you get the best deal each year.Regards,
 Dave

            Hi,
Just another idea to earn a few pennies - sell unwanted items on ebay.0
-
Thanks again for your ideas, we have done the ebay selling not got anything left really, just wanted something to do on a night together that may earn us £10 or so a night over 3 or 4 nights so maybe £40 a week = £160 a month for not much work. Wouldnt know where to start looking really.0

The point about the betting thing is that you dont actually gamble. Read the rules and stick to them. Cant say I have the patience myself but others have made it worthwhile...
A home earner on here recently was Any Questions Answered (AQA), seach the forum. Sadly they dont recruit often - but keep ya eyes peeled, people usually post here when they do.
Otherwise, how about a hobby or interest you could turn into an earner?
Best of luck with the mortgage ! Debt: a bloomin big mortgage ! Debt: a bloomin big mortgage
all posts are made for entertainment value only, nothing I say should be taken as making any sense and should really be ignored0

            Hi Dave
There is a thread on the Debt-Free Wannabe section called "Maximising income - Mystery Shopping? Surveys? (Part Two)" (sorry no idea how to do a link!!) that may interest you.
You can make a (small) amount by filling in questionaires (tho you may be paid in vouchers) and from doing searches for various things (using kellcoo etc) going via Quidco/GreasyPalms amongst others. I know you can get points or their equivalent for doing online shopping for things like Tescos (ontop of tesco points). I also do the weekly clicks on Pigsback and am about to get my 2nd £10 voucher in the last 3 months. If you want to sign up for Pigsback pm me with your email address and I'll send you a referal email. (I would receive 500 piggypoints worth £5 from you joining when you get your 1st reward) alteratively you can go straight to the website (https://www.pigsback.com).
I think someone has posted on the debt free wannabe section about 82ASK recruiting at the moment. (Apparently it is similar to AQA but I don't know much about it.)
I'm trying to get up courage to start trying to sell some of the jewellery I make (one of my hobbies) to increase my mortgage savings!
I've also started saving all the £2 coins I receive... small enough amount that I don't notice it not being in my purse but large enough to save a bit with (eg £32 last month)!
I hope some of this has helped!
