    So build some houses then.

Both HPI and RI are nothing more than the result of a massive shortage of housing.

Build more houses, they're badly needed.

  • Brought ours with an 80% mortgage. Repayments well within whatever they were 3x or something like that.

Some people thrive on debt doesn't mean it is normal.

    Indeed.

You can look at the massive shortage of housing which has driven HPI and place your bets accordingly.

    OR....

You can run around desperately squawking that the sky isn't blue and that the emperor has new clothes.

    Mr Muddles prefers the latter.

Those with an ounce of common sense will choose the former.

As someone who claims they are always right, I don't understand why you can't see the obvious. They will not build enough houses - that would change the status quo too much - plentiful housing would see a fall in house prices and the bubble would happen. No, the shortage will help maintain house price rises (and housing is too important to the economy). Some will benefit and they will throw an occasional carrot to make the public think that they are the party of opportunity.

Have you spoken to your local MP about it?

I'm afraid 'they' are your friends and neighbours. They all agree that more housing is needed but would prefer someone else to be impacted.

Good lord. What on earth is this!?!?

Tesco's are bloody nice chaps subsidising us all, as they could indeed make more profit on their goods.

Come up with as many strange analogies as you like - it won't change the reality.

It's a silly analogy anyway - Tesco make as much profit as they think is possible. They'll be delighted to hear that some simple souls think they're actually subsiding the customers.

Stated on the radio this morning "the fact that David Cameron cannot see that his solution will make every single one of the problems he talks of worse is truly astonishing and somewhat worrying - worse still is that he places Ed Balls in a position of economic authority".

Probably the same people who said austerity would never create growth.
