Feeling a bit disheartened at slow progress this month, have various amounts I'm waiting for and they're not yet appearing.

I can add 24p from a combination of nectar points and Qmee. Wowsers :)

That said I do have some wonderful weekends away lined up in connection with work that would set me back a fair amount if I was paying so I really should stop moaning and count my blessings.

don't let it get you down. There will always be months where it is a bit slow money making and others where it is unbelievable.

the best thing is you are making something. more than you had at the beginning of the month.

Thank you Aesop, I'm in a bad mood because cashback on laptops from PC World is turning out to be more problematic than it was made out to be.

I should have We Buy Books money this week and work exes next, plus my first ever MS assignment and hopefully £30+ from eBay. I have signed up for Qustodian but I'm not sure I have time.

I'm totally hooked on this money making malarkey above and beyond work but days like today I just don't have the energy.

You are so brilliant and helpful to others. Thanks so much

I have a few questions for you comping gurus :)

Do you tend to use a specific email account and/or phone number for comps?

It is better to have one email specifically for comping. You get some spam and obviously a lot of literature about the company. I would suggest a spare phone with a dedicated number for comping.

Are there any of the websites that are worth using or are they all pants?

definitely some worth using, loquax, compersnews, chatterbox. MSE is ok but the comps they find are usually the same as everyone else find, not that many different. I like to find comps that not everybody is doing too! try your local papers, you might find a cheeky weekend comp in there.

If you win something do you usually have to respond to an email/call or do they just post it out?

varies from company to company. if they don't ask for your contact details, yes they will call/email to ask where to send it.

others will email telling you, you have won, please reply with details. Some will call, some tweet...

Been doing a few here and there but might try to do some more frequently seeing as everyone is getting good prizes :)

    replies in red to you.
  • I need to share this - Just back from a short visit to Glasgow (I was taken to see Bruno Mars as a birthday gift) so was expecting to be way behind in my challenge BUT walking in my door I found a letter containing a cheque £944 tax rebate!!!!!! I've also £8 cashed from doing surveys :j:rotfl::j I'm so pleased and shocked. That's some of the pressure off for next month and means that I can start looking at my other plans for money making!! :T

Another £4.63 today from a F*cebook sale - just something I found in a drawer and put on on the off chance. Very pleased.

    Also 1p more roadkill

So £49.41 so far, so close to make it to £50.

Today I am adding a stinking cold to the pot. Anyone want some of it? I am happy to split it and send on for postage costs?

Lol! I already have it NS but thanks for the generous offer! :D. Here's to a great money making day. I know I could use one and it sounds like a few others could too. Here's to finding some extra bits to EBay this weekend and would anyone else like to challenge themselves to entering 10 competitions by Sunday? I've already done one......guess I need to get off my bottom and find a few more! Thanks for the info Aesop! X

  • Hi,
    I am new to this.
I would like to start of with £5.00 a day.
Yesterday, instead of buying lunch for work, I decided to make my own- saving myself £7.00.

Hi kmccoy and welcome! Good luck with the challenge. If you read through post 1 and 2 our guru Aesop has some great tips there to help you get started.

Aesop i multiquoted you but its not here. Lol... Yep its windows 8, and i haven't got a clue what i'm doing! :rotfl: Had to ask my 10 year old daughter how to do a couple of things :rotfl:

In money making news.... 23p roadkill at work this morning  and thats it! :p I'm gonna spend the day cracking on with ebay 10 day auctions which will hopefully get me lots of watchers and bids over 2 weekends! Thats the plan anyway :rotfl: Whilst i was on the sick from shingles (3 weeks off ) i had plenty of time to myself. Ended up sorting out around 100 new items to list ready for when i was better and had a laptop that worked. That time has come.... :D

Started my new job this week too. Going really well and when i've checked the rotas for next week i have been given some decent hours which all fit in with my current job. I'm hoping this 2nd job is gonna make such a huge difference to us :)

Right, enough rambling.... Off to make money
