Currys / PC World cashback offer

Options
I purchased this laptop from Currys and was told I could
claim £100 Cashback against the purchase price of £499 after 21 days.

Having looked at the site I need a "Cashback Coupon" number which I was never provided. I have contacted the store on two occasions who have saidthey will send me a coupon but these have never arrived, I also contacted theircustomer services team who weren't aware of the offer and could not contact the store directly. They advised that my only option is to make the 30 mile round trip back to the store.

When I purchased the laptop I was given lots of automated paperwork:-

· Coupon for £50 of my nextpurchase over £200

· Sales receipt

· 2 x VAT receipts

· Coupon for 20%

· #Whatever Happened PremierCare Plan

· Easy Pay Customer Information

· Leafket on how to claim £100cashback

· Thank you for shopping withus leaflet

As you can see I am bombarded with junk trying to get me to spend more money with Currys, but the most important Cashback Coupon is not included with this, and I have found it impossible for anyone at Currys to be able to provide this to me.

I find this very suspicious, particularly as themythical Cashback voucher is needed in order to recover my £100 as advertised, and failure to do this clearly represents a very profitable advantage for Currys.

Has anyone else had problems like this with Curry, or could help me.

Thanks :(

  • I purchased a Samsung laptop on the 10th Sep for £599 with the promise of a voucher code for £100 cashback to be claimed between 21 and 60 days after purchase. My purchase was made on-line, pay and collect. I too am having terrible problems getting the cashback code. I have been in touch with the helpline who have referred me to Currys customer service. Spoke with two separate individuals who didn't seem to know how to help but said they would email me some claim form. Have waited 5 days but nothing has materialised yet. Also emailed "know how" customer service twice but that service just generates an automatic customer support response and ref number. Been waiting 5 days for those guys to respond. It's all looking decidedly suspect. I am though without doubt going to persevere with this and plague the life out of Currys until I receive what I am entitled too.

Many of these Cashback deals have nothing to do with the retailer, but are offered by the manufacturer as an incentive to the purchaser - this usually results in a pre-loaded debit card bring posted to the purchaser.

Some sales staff are aware of these when they surface, but unless they are actually advertising the price WITH the Cashback amount on the sales card, they are not obliged to become involved.

Contact the manufacturer and ask them where to get the Cashback code from.
  • In this instance Currys and PC World have undertaken a huge advertising campaign to promote the £100 cashback. This is clearly demonstrated by the advertising on their internet site and in store. The prices in-store were shown after cashback redemption. It's very clear that the onus is very much with Currys to manage the cashback process, unfortunately they are making things very difficult when it goes wrong.
  • Just thought you might like to know. I contacted Currys customer service on the 30th Sep as I had still not received a cashback code after 20 days and a promise of one last week. It appears that they are having issues with the codes. I was informed that the last batch of codes had to be withdrawn as they had already been issued and redeemed by customers, but fear not, a new batch of codes were due within the next day or so and will be sent out straight away. It might be advantageous to give them a ring and stake your claim for a code.

    Best of luck.
  • The cashback phone line is very easy to access 0843 3179 307 and they have been very helpful - fully admitting the fault is at their end - they are just asking us to be patient.
I too did not receive my cashback code in store, and when I didn't receive it by the 21 days when I was allowed to make a claim I rang and they made sure I got it emailed (took a few days) When I tried to use the code it hasn't worked but again, when I have rung them they admit the error is with them and have told me that by late afternoon it should be working.
Do ring them so that if there is a delay at least you can show you have asked for help and then if the delay in making your claim goes over the 60 day limit you have grounds for them to still ensure you get your cashback.
  • Claim made and gone through. Yay! Don't give up anyone and be nice to the team it was a website problem accepting second batch of codes
  • I had to make 8 phone calls and spent hours to finally get the £100 cashback code. I don't believe any one actually got the code when they first bought the laptop which was promised in the cashback terms and conditions. They only admitted they had had a problem after the third phone call. I kept getting diofferent promises of a time scale when I would get my code. When I did get an e-mail it was just the £50 coupon which you hadto spend £200 to use. Finally after last phone call , having stated that I would not get off the phone and would keep calling back until I received this code someone finally gave me the code over the phone and waited until it had all gone through. Nightmare experience and I will not ever buying from Currys or PC World again
  • Hi,

I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 which advertsed £20 cashback and £20 voucher to spend in store.

I can not find any trace on my order confirmation or online as to how these two offers can be claimed.

    Can anyone help?
  • Just to let everyone know, I managed to get my cashback after emailing the customer services. They gave me the link below.

    www.curryspcworldcashback.com

I am however having huge difficulty getting the £20.00 voucher from them! I have emailed several times and it has apparently been sent for 'processing'.

As my order was placed online I should receive the voucher by email so there is really no excuses such as lost in the post.

I certainly will not buy any product from them again advertising cashback or vouchers.
