I'm trying to work out the cheapest place to buy dried fruit and nuts, partly for baking and for snacking, but also for making the Christmas cake. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Poundland has started to stock a range of nuts and related products, but not all branches. Mine says they are not stocking them at the moment, but will be at Christmas. £1 a pack for almonds - can't go wrong!0

I have bought cranberries in Poundland, but they haven't had them recently. I'll have to nip in and see if they have anything else. Thanks for the suggestion.May spend - £291.40/£320.00

Asda has had some decent deals on small ish packs of dried fruits, £1 iirc, decent range.
Though, some of the cheaper fruit and nuts have sulphites if that is an issue.0 -
Keep an eye out for the penny sale, half price and bogof offers at Holland and Barrett - I wouldn't pay full price there, but when they have deals on the prices are often quite good, particularly for some of the larger bags if you get through quite a bit. I used to stock up in the sales and then make up my own little 'graze' style boxes.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

Sorry I can't give you prices but I did see lots of cake stuff including dried fruit in Aldi this morning. Might be worth checking out if you've one nearby.0

Poundland do 500g of dates for £1, which is brilliant as I have them for snacks and use them in baking quite often.
Worth checking India and Chinese grocers as they can be significantly cheaper for dried fruits, nuts and spices than the big super markets.
Lidl are good for nuts too, I've found - hazelnuts and almonds in particular.Roadkill Rebels December - £2.49

B&M had some great offers on dried fruit the last time I was in. I got a tub of chopped prunes for 39p (250g). They had lots of different fruits.0

Lots of helpful suggestions - thanks! We don't have all the shops mentioned near here, but we do have some. I had forgotten about the H & B sales - there is one just down from Lidl so worth me keeping an eye on. I like to make up little pots of fruit and nuts for snacks esp for my DH and DS, as well as baking and Christmas cake so we could get through quite a lot!May spend - £291.40/£320.00

I'm very lucky in that we have a wholefoods wholesale store in Northampton, where I can get nuts and fruit much cheaper than the supermarkets. However, if I do have to buy them in the supermarket, I always get them from the baking section, not the healthy snacks section. They're exactly the same products but in diffrent packages and much cheaper!0
