My parents have had a quote from the above company. If anyone could give some advice on prices or if they have heard of the company that would be great.
They have been quoted £9000 for 16 black mono suntellite premium series panels, ZDNY-250C60 panels 250Wp, voltage 31.17v, 8.03a, 37.85v open circuit and cell efficiency 17.4%. The price includes fitting and a sunny boys inverter, whatever that is. My parents have just signed for this, but have time to cancel and I want to check out they are not being ripped off.

They are south facing and live on a small holding and there re no shading issues.

Seems a bit pricey. they should be looking at between £5k &£7k. A quick google of solar installers for Derby came up with this one. http://www.c-changes.com/an-example-system

Just an example but you get the idea! Maybe get your parents to halt that purchase and have a good shop around, maybe get a half dozen quotes or so, they will be pleasantly surprised!!

That's way over the odds. Here's the price table of the company based in Yorkshire we used to install our panels. Our system has performed considerably better than predicted:

That is the worst possible advice you could give anybody, before a purchase of this nature because of the large sums involved you need to check out the company on "Companycheck.co.uk" its free and gives you an insight into the sort of company you are handing your money over to. Medoria Solar have 4k in the bank and the company is worth -10K!!!!!!!!!!
Solar is a good investment, it is also a 20 year investment you need to make sure you are dealing with a company who are going to be around in the future and offer a quality product and the guarantees to go with it. We all know we can get cheap stuff but dosent it pay sometimes to use the best and fit the best???
