Capquest

Options
Capquest have written to me today, saying that I must contact them re a Vanquis debt that's now £750 over the amount it was suspended on (£2,250.00) in Nov 2012.
it was suspended under the "repayment option plan" that was in force. not sure if this is classed as PPI or not.
Vanquis first stated that it & my situation (health & inability to work) being also on Low income Tax credits & Housing Bens.
and would be in force for upto two years.
then almost at once statements kept coming in saying I was in arrears etc & each time I called they agreed it was an error & would correct the file. then Impact and Resolvcall kept pestering me 24.7 until I moved at Easter & had new number placed no calls ex-directory. and basically sent photostat letters to the collection Bods saying my debt was and is with Vanquis & I will deal with them in writing via Chatham office only.
I have not had one letter from Vanquis since Feb 2013.
and Mail re-direct was in place upto June 2013.
Now Capquest are chancing their arm and writing to me here but address is listed on their letter to the Main property/site & not actually to this House.
so I guess they don't have the actual correct address.
where they have gleaned this address from one can only guess. poss elect register ? or Council Tax Listings ?
Although the only Documents I have with the address written as they also have it are with Santander ? everyone else has the actual house name listed.

I have just about had my fill of the Sods and now will await a court attendance date to have the whole matter inc the inflation of debt brought before the court.
I have never denied the original debt & have shown that I am not at present in a position to clear it and that the repayment option plan I have been informed covers the debt of upto two years !

Best start your own thread for this :)

    Options are:
    1. Ignore. May end up in court with a CCJ as they will send the papers to your last verified address. Not good.

    2. Set up redirection again. Can be done for up to 2 years from moving.

    3. Give them your new address. Not phone number.
Write telling them to contact you in writing only.
Send them a written complaint, signed for if you can afford, complaining of harassment by phone, constant call threats, not willing to treat you fairly despite you telling them your circumstances.
Not easy to ignore complaint as you can refer to FOS after 8 weeks or if they fob you off. Cost £500 fee for them, free for you.

Also complain about being unwilling to provide a written statement of account, which is a reasonable request under OFT debt collection guidance.

If it goes to court, you will only be made to pay what ou can afford and they know that.

If you checked your credit file, they may get your linked address. Or electoral reg.
