Solicitors Letter.... response time

sorry if this is in the wrong place.

VERY long winded , but I'll be as brief as poss. A creditor believes we owe them money for goods. We've paid them for everything and can prove it. We have tried no end to sort out what they they think we owe, and they keep sending us a statement with 3 outstanding invoices- all paid! They've now gone to a solicitor and we've received 2 letters. the first basically saying pay up'. the second saying they will go to court and charge us interest etc. We have explained that we have paid and have sent proof to the solicitor and copies of all the correspondence over the past 3 years! this was 6 weeks ago and now am waiting for a response.
I'm stressing every day and hyperventilate when I see the postman!! How long will this waiting game go on??

If you gave proof of payment, doesn't really matter what they say or do . You would just provide a court with the evidence it's paid. If you ever receive court papers, defend it on the fact that no debt is owed.

Who's the creditor?

What proof did you send?
Have they received it?

If you are certain you can prove you owe no money don't worry about the postman.

Why stress ? Let them take you to court. You have proof, and you have proof that you gave them proof. Make a counter claim for harrassment, and stress.

I don't know why you need to stress. Have a cup of tea, chat "Bring it on" Feel better ?

thanks everyone - I'm a total worry head, and I infuriate everyone with my over analyzing everything!!
Is there an expected 'answer' time from the solicitor or will this hang over us (me!) for a long while yet??
