Thanks all for your comments. I noted the Accord SVR but no discussion had at the time of application which was a shame.
I have found a different lender (just for info: Post Office 75% LTV with fee of nearly 1500 but equiv rate to accord of 2.99 5yr fix). My question is now if I apply to the PO, and if that and Accord come back positive am I duty bound to go with Accord and pay the broker fee? That scenario would put me out the most money..
I guess proper behaviour in this scenario would be to stop the Accord app and start a new rather than have two ongoing?0 -

Depends what the term of the broker fee were.
With some it is for just trying to place a case, others for delivering a mortgage offer, and others only charge it if you actually take the mortgage offer up.
