How long does it take to process.....

I posted my application for Child Support over 2 weeks ago, I recently phoned to see how my application was progressing and they told me that it hasn't even been added to the computer yet, I asked if they could let me know when it was being processed and was basically told "no - phone back in four weeks"

I was just wondering how long, on average, people have to wait for their application to be processed

fruglass... i wouldnt be surprised if your looking at least 3-6 months. Unless your on Income Support.

Hi, Im not on income support and had hesitated to go to the csa due to severe domestic violence issues.
However, 9 years on, on the 21st of May I made my application by telephone. They have been keeping me updated throughout and just the other day I received my schedule of payments which begin on the 5th July. Pretty quick for me, Im absolutely gobsmacked to be honest that they have achieved this in just under 4 weeks now.

I live in Scotland so presume it's the Falkirk office, although my ex is in England so am not sure how that works.....

I received a call from them last week to say that they were going to contact the ex and obtain wages information etc......haven't heard anything back from them since

I know of a non-resident parent being contacted by the csa in May and they were informed of their schedule of payments by June - the parent with care is not on income support, or claiming any benefits.....I just hope my case gets processed as quick

The office dealing with it will be the one nearest where the PWC lives - so you will be dealt with by Falkirk. How long is a piece of string is the answer. It depends on them and your ex. if he complies in full it won't be too bad, if not you could have a long wait aheard.

Sent my re-assesment forms on 26th May this year

Now been told to pay £70 plus arrears, letter thru post so it seems they can be quick. yet still make mistakes. my son got full time job and yet i still got to pay for him.

I initiated a claim in April 07 as my ex decided to halve maintenance for his own reasons. Apparently CSA are supposed to contact the absent parent within a month or they (the CSA) themselves become liable for maintenance due between that month and when they actually contact. This is now July - no action yet at all. Four weeks ago my case was meant to be going to Bolton but not yet (although for some reason I'm still 'at the top of the list').

I'm still without maintenance due for my daughter who is coming up for 20 - I'm owed thousands in arrears and promises of action by enforcement don't come to anything..............

Wonder what would happen if I claimed benefits??

I don't understand this. Your daughter is 20 and you initiated a claim in April 07? You are owed thousands in arrears.

Please can you explain more clearly.

My daughter from my first marriage is 20 and I claimed maintenance under the old system. Still fighting that one.......

My son from my second marriage is 12 and initiated a claim in April for him. Didn't really want to go to the CSA again (which his dad knows) cos of the problems getting anywhere. When my ex halved our agreed payments from £40pw to £20pw I had no choice.:mad:

I expect my son will have left home before I get anything..............

Furious - have been informed eventually that he has to pay me £15 a week, he allegedly has responsibility for 3 kids and has obviously said that he is earning £155 a week - how many builders work for £155 a week I wonder?

(he was paying me £20 voluntary and £15 a week into my daughters bank account for pocket money prior to all this)

I think his employer (a building firm) has fiddled his wage slips - and am going to get the inland revenue to investigate this

Any advice gratefully received please ........I'm so upset
