I have a barclays CC on 0% interest until july 2008..it's set up to take minimum payment by DD each month...I want to pay extra each month using the giro slip at Barclays...as I don't have an account there will there be a charge for doing this?
I cannot find the answer anywhere!!

I am fairly sure that if it is a Barclaycard and you are paying over the counter at Barclays, it will be fee free.

  • Hiya, I used to have a Barclaycard and could go into a Barclays branch to make payments, there was never a charge. I think I used to be able to make them through my own bank too (Natwest) but I never tried it. You can however set up online banking with them though which is waaaay easier, really simple to do, and you can make extra payments anytime of the day or night with that :)

you can also phone barclaycard up and ask to take not the minium payment and up it , to what ever you fell comfortable to pay, ie,

instead of say 15 pound a month up it to 50?

you can always lower it circumstances change.

Thanks for the replies...I want to pay the minimum and then make a cash payment...ie..pay my tips....(these don't go through my bank account)...as long as there is no charge at Barclays that is fine....i bank with halifax and they can't take the payment as they are not a giro clearing bank!!!
As I don't have an account with Barclays...I was just making sure I wouldn't get charged ..thanks
I have the online banking but it's cash I want to pay so will pop down to a branch...I thought that if there was a charge I would just save up the cash and just pay the once but if no charge will pop in every month and pay the extra..thanks for your help
