Adding Person to Mortgage - Complications

Hi
I want to add my partner to my mortgage when I renew my product early next year.
When i purchased the property we didnt get a joint mortgage as they were self employed and this caused problems at the time, approx 20 months ago. Although everything has been 50/50 from day 1.
Their income is approx 50% higher than mine and they have an average credit score.
Since purchasing my property we have a child and I have been on maternity the last 9 months. I am likely to return to work on a lower income due to a reduction in working hours.
Can anyone advise on how difficult it may be to secure a new product addign my partner and what impact my reduced wages may have?
I have option to continue with current lender but I think there a better deals out there.
