If the bulk of a "capitalist economy" is owned by a state bank, is that capitalism or socialism?

In my view we're being offered the choice between two out of touch over-privileged numpties who stand around talking a lot of drivel which they don't intend to do but who essentially have the same policies (which are to talk a lot of hot air for five years and then try to get another five years to do the same).
You should become one of those politicians. Your style and way you present yourself would fit in perfectly.

The Daily Mail view of the world defined. Red Ed is coming to get you. Have you ever ever done anything even vaguely radical Michaels?:rotfl:

We're the country that helped organise the German economy get back on its feet again after WWII and then forgot to so the same kind of interventions on our own economy. Is either party capable of making the same turnaround here?

Or is it just as Chewey suggests just us choosing which rich people will sit at the top ignoring whatever happens and letting our economic rollercoaster dip (and hopefully rise) without doing the bulk of the country any much good at all?
Is this the same Germany that shows respect for its workers and attempts to gain a consensus between management and the unions. A country in which policies are long term and emphasis is placed on good industrial relations. Whereas what we have in this country is the barrow boy politics of the tory wide boys during the bidding of their privileged masters who hold the real power.

My first move would be to appoint you as my Damian McBride. Another perfect fit.
  • Of course the irony is that if it gets too Socialist - to the point of communism - then we probably wouldn't be allowed to leave the country. Or at least not with any wealth.

The question could, more honestly, have been phrased as "If Red Ed - by some miracle - does get in at the 2015 election, what are your plans?"

    Possibilites include:
    • Official Emigration.
    • Flee in a small fishing boat with others, and take one's chances as a refugee in Vietnam.
    • Put up with it and pay higher taxes.
    • See a hypnotist who would make you truly believe that it is fair to steal wealth from hard workers and give it to idle lazy !!!!!! to buy as many 55" TV's as they like.
    • Hide one's wealth abroad, pretend to be poor, and get a shedload of benefits.
    • Commit suicide.
    • Join/Form a right wing military resistance movement, aimed at siezing power and hanging Balls/Milibean for treason.
