Another Facebook grumble ...

started using FB again today after not liking/sharing/commenting for ages - just been using to upload pics etc - and I've just been asked to verify my identity after doing only 6 likes, 2 shares and three comments today!

I thought things had changed? I know you're not supposed to share but what's the point in having the share facility if you're not actually allowed to use it?

Also, how do the compers who like and share loads (you all know who you are ) manage to do it?




And for my second grumble - quizonaut.
I won a mousemat on their daily comp, but they want this:
To ensure your prize is sent to the correct address we must ask you to upload a copy of your driving license, passport, a bill with your address on or another official document to confirm your identity. Only after your identity has been validated, will your prize be sent:

Ppfffftttt .... a large win like an ipad I can understand, but for a mouse mat?!

is it for personal use aswell i find they flag up certain accounts if they think its just for comping spamming etc

No, I use it for personal stuff, uploading photos, status updates etc. There are FB compers who use it all the time just for comps and I have no idea how they manage to share every day when I got locked out and banned (don't know how long for this time) after only one day of very light use.

I agree - I was banned last year for 30 days (when Facebook were having their mass cull) and some of my friends who share literally 100's of comps a day for everything and anything were not effected!!!!???? :eek: I just don't get the way Facebook work at times! Anyway, I still like and share but try to spread it out during the day and I also try to chat with friends or post status updates to make my page a little more 'normal'. I still get the odd captcha pop up though to verify I am not a robot - if that happens, I lie cool for a few hours! :eek:

Hi all

Facebook related so thought I'd just pop on this thread.... I have never been bothered thus far by any of the Facebook problems (lucky, but I don't use it to comp that often). However, in the last day or so I have found that I can't post a status on my page or share anything. Seems I can still like posts and use apps though, and I have logged out and in with no issues. Has anyone experienced similar and does it mean my account has been restricted for spamming etc or is it an unrelated problem? Googling the phrases the error messages use suggest they may have been updating the server my account is on but it shouldn't take more than a day. However, it has been over a day for me now Any ideas? I have emailed the help but they seem to be emphasising that they won't get back to me so guess I just have to wait for my account to spring back to life...

It sounds like you have had your account restricted, you should have had a notification when you logged in. Have you checked if you can send private messages? If you can't then that's a clear sign that that's the case.
It can last for a week or a month and you won't get a response from sending a message via the help centre unfortunately.

I had a right old time with fb recently saying I wasn't a real person! I had to send a copy of my ID. Three days and eight increasingly irate emails later I was reinstated.

I wouldn't mind but I'd reported someone who was posting on loads of pages scamming for money so they could go and visit an apparent sick relative/long lost love/to get a job in America and another that was offering to buy people's profiles a few days before!

Thanks sydroo. That is the weird thing, I've had no notification and can log in and out fine. I can't do anything except use apps it would seem *except* sometimes it seems to let me like a page or a status, then it's like it remembers they're not allowing me to do that and it goes back to giving me errors! Seems weird that such a huge site doesn't have a set process to tell you you can't do x and y for z number of days. I wouldn't mind if they'd have done that, but chucking up "please try again" errors and letting me do the odd thing is a bit irritating! Oh well, will log off and not go near it for a week and see if that helps.
