Spice jar refills

Where do people buy their refills from? I have lots of Schwartz jars that need refilling but I'm not bothered if it's not Schwartz brand spices that go in them. Asda do their own but the range seems very limited and they're still not that cheap. Just bought Schwartz nutmeg refill - £1.04 for 2 sachets (although still only fills 1 bottle). I'm sure one of you will know where to get them cheaper???

Morrisons also do a lot of cheap spices used in asian cooking. I've had their turmeric, bay leaves, peppercorns & cloves. All fine (possibly more aromatic than schwarz etc.) & lasted ages.0

Morrisons own are ok and cheapish. Also many health food shops sell bags of herbs and spices that work out a lot cheaper than the little packets.
have a look at

LIDL have many of the basics - fairly large jars at cheap prices.
Can't remember if Aldi have a comparable range. There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

Asian shops are by far the cheapest and good quality and selection usually.0

Large Tescos, have asian food section (not uncle bens stuff, but proper asian spices), example £1.39 for 400g of paprika. I use loads in the BBQ seasonUnless it is damaged or discontinued - ignore any discount of over 25%0

Asian supermarkets are the best ever for all curry related items,i can get a big hand full of fresh chillis for about 20-30p where a normal supermarket will be about £1 something for about 3 !!!0

Definitely try the Asian supermarkets. They put the high street shops to shame. On a recent shop I bought 400g of ginger for £1.39 and 1kg of coriander for £2. Black peppercorn and chilli flakes and all of the usual type of spices can be found in these places. The only problem you'll have is keeping them in airtight containers once you've opened them. I find Douwe Egberts coffee cotainers very good.
Good luck!Val0 -
Do you have a sunday market near you? I'm talking about the really big ones with hundreds of traders and usually a car boot sale too.
They are great places for all manner of bargains including spices. Big bags full of every possible spice priced between 50p and £1.20 ish. With one bag you can easily fill one of those little supermarket jars 3 times over. Excellent!Stop looking for answers....
The most you can hope for are clues.....:)0
