Sending payslip and p60 for mortgage application

Hi. I'm moving house and borrowing more. I've applied via nationwide and they want p60 and payslip to confirm how much they can lend. The thing is. The p60 shows over £2000 less a year due to non taxable London weighting I get in my payplip. Which one will they used to work out how much they can lend?

They use P60 only for confirmation of employment, not for income.

The latest payslip is used for income verification.

If they are unhappy with anything, they may write to your employer for a reference anyway.

  • I wondered about this too during an application the other day. I don't have a P60 for current employer as I joined at the start of the tax year and my previous P60 shows previous employer (but does show previous years earning s obviously so wasnt sure if that was they were verifying
  • I also had to send my contract of employment to the mortgage company which details my yearly salary.
Would that be possible for you, along with 3 monthly payslips proving you earn salary plus £2000.
    Ask them.
  • Cheers. I don't have a contract of employment as I'm technically employed by the crown. They only asked for one payslip but I may send 2 more to be. On safe side
