  • Yep thats the plan, working and studying and cadets/walking leaves little time for spending money.

    So updates:

Lodger is now successfully moved in. Haven't actually seen him since a left for work Saturday afternoon and has kept himself in his room, perfect lodger material. Actually scratch that , i think someone that I have stuff in common with and can interact and banter a bit would be better.

Low spend weekend, went out on the town last night and spent a grand total of £13, had a few at a friends before going out late. Today spent £3 on food while at work as i didn't have any food in.

O and £20 on my cousins birthday present.

Didnt think that was too bad.

Had my confirmation letter through from the mortgage co. confirming my increased dd to £250, so on the first ill have made my first overpayment :)

    Jobs for this week:

Inform council tax of new lodger
    Paint some more garden fence
    Ironing :(

    Jobs for the month:

    Submit cadet milage claim
    Lose 6lbs -weigh in Tuesday
    Complete filing
Arrange for new curtains to be altered - cats now old enough to not to want to attack them so should be safe to put up

I could also really do with finding out where my water meter is as ive been having estimated readings since i moved in. never know may be due a rebate??!!

Too tired to really think about much else, bed at 3:30 am isn't a good idea. Is it too early to go to bed yet??!!!

  • Well i still haven't seen my lodger, very odd. O well,

Giblet, I lasted until just after 10pm. Just about to go out for a walk with my mum, another for my log book :) just need to plan a quick route.

Nothing major planned for this week, not all college tomorrow so at work as normal. Should be a low spend week, just need a few groceries: milk, fruit and veg.

Getting pretty chilly atm so i hope my lodger isnt expecting the heating to go on anytime soon!!! Luckily he also works full time office hours so won be going on during the day as it was with my last lodger (she worked shifts).

Still got my ironing to do but ill do thst after ive been back to mums for sunday dinner, dad is cooking it while me and mum go out. really need to find some time to actually fill in my log book.

  • Well my few groceries came to £30!!! Turned out i had less food in than i thought. no other spends since then though apart from a charity cake at work on Friday.

The weekend has been pretty busy - worked both today and yesterday and spent the early afternoon at my mums enjoying dads sunday dinner and the latter part preparing kit lists and parent letters for the next couple of weekends as ive arranged some camping trips for the cadets. No time for spending money!!!

Bought a load of veg in my shop to make some soups, thinking carrot and lentil, and butternut squash and pepper. Got stock from my dad - i give him any chicken bones i have and he gives me some frozen homemade stock to take home :) Only i eat chicken more than i use stock so i now have a drawer full - another reason why i want to make soup!!

Didn't get any ironing done and as such my pile has got bigger. I did take a good look at it thought and decided that bedsheets, pjs and walking gear does not really need ironing so that has cut it down considerably.

    Lodger is still rather elusive.

Quite excited about my first overpayment DD coming out tomorrow! I get paid on the 25th which it quite good as it doesn't matter if it comes out at the end of the month or at the beginning. Worked out that my monthly house bills are £740 a month (including mortgage and dad repayments at the higher amount of £250 each). That doesnt inc gas and leccie as thats quarterly.

Managed to get 3 hours of additional hours at job 2 last week as we has sales training i wanted to go to. works out at about £22. both jobs i have are for the local council so they are quite good at being flexible. i was able to take 3 hours flexi from job 1, will have to try and make that up in bits over this next week. Actually that might be hard as im only in the office 2 days! One college day and 2 days of annual leave to go walking.

Anticipating a low spend week this week again. should need much/if any food - no more than £10. Just need to be prepared for my long day at college. Busy couple of weekends ahead too so unlikely to be spendy there either.

Keep doing bits on swagbucks, might have £25 to cash out in vouchers in time for xmas.I dont really do the surveys anymore, the daily qu, a couple of searches and a couple of games and i make sure to sign up for any team challenge things.

Right - time to make soup!!

  • Yep its great, he comes and builds wardrobes and put mirrors up etc for me too.

SOme good MSE news today, i got angry with my internet company. I have an 18 months contract with them, £10 for 6 months and then 15.50 after. Well turns out just before my £10 offer ran out they decided to put the price up to 18.50, so i never even paid the price i originally signed up to. One phone call today and its now at 13.50 for the next 12 months. Plus if a pay online of the 15 instead of waiting for my DD on the 25th I can save another £2 a month. WINNER!!

Now i just need to remember to do it!!

Just checked my online banking and made my first overpayment!!! £74.74. My CTAX DD didnt have time to be amended to take off my single person discount so it will seem expensive for the next few months, new bill not arrive either but sure itll be here before next DD.

Read another book on my library's e-site, its great. only thing is the next book in the series has a waiting list so think itll be about another 10 days max. which is kinda okay coz its free and im busy at the moment.

College tomorrow, going to take a bag load of food to stop the spending. its been over £10 before. on teas and lunch and snacks and that 3pm sugar hit needed to stop me falling asleep (i dont drink coffee). At least i can wear whatever i like :)

Had a couple of days off last week but they seem to have been swallowed up and i didnt get half of the stuff done that i wanted to.

i dont currently have a credit card but im thinking about trying to get a tesco one, for the points. not sure if there are any better ones around. i also think that my MOT is due soon so my list of jobs for today is

    1. replace ink in my printerdone however said printer is now broken, hoping its fixable
    2. hang out wet camping stuffdone all dry, ready for next weekend
    3. print all my routes for my log book - not done, see 1
    4. ironing - not done (yet)
    5. call northumbrian water to see if they have sorted out the wrongful debt claim. Bailiffs have finally sent the debt back after realising i wasn't liable for it but i haven't heard yet that they've written it off/ sorted out my credit file. - not done
    6. Pull out MOT info/book car in done, not due until 7th Oct

Lodger is still elusive, suppose hes not trashing the place or being really loud, for which im grateful but ive never been so distant from somebody ive lived with before. Never mind.

Right going to get a couple of these jobs done before i go to work!

  • Well my printer is still dead although there are numerous online videos showing me otherwise :(

Did over half my ironing last night, vacuumed out my car as it was smelling very musty after having a load of wet camping gear in it - all unpacked and hung up outside to freshen up. hope it doesnt rain tonight!!

Non- MSE I spent £19 at primarni :(, new work shoes and some work our gear.

Jobs for tonight - finish ironing, try to get printer working.

    Ugh.

  • Yeyyyyy i fixed my printer, rather happy as id just filled it with ink.

3 weeks until my walking assessment, absolutely cream crackered- been camping on both of my weekends off and i dont have a day off until my assessment.

MSE news i remembered to pay my broadband bill and therefore only paid £11.36. Rather better than the £18.50 i was being charged. Happy days.

Had a bit of a spendy couple of weeks but going to be so busy the next few i think it will be rather cheap. Going to book my car in for MOT and include a service this time for the Monday after my assessment.

Plan is to make sure Im organised and get to bed early as its going to take it out of me, actually took half a days leave today as I was feeling so tired :(
