Comfortable shoe brand?

I'm looking to buy some VERY comfortable shoes as i'm starting a job where I will be on my feet practically 100% of the time.

I was hoping some lovely posters could give me an idea of any brands to try? I was considering 'Hotter'.

The only requirements is the shoe must be black and flat!

Hotter shoes are very comfortable.

My mother-in-law introduced me to Hotter shoes many years ago. I won't wear anything else now. I can work a 12 hour shift in my flat black shoes with no problems.

I would go to Clarks, good quality and different width fittings too so you can be sure of a great comfortable fit. Plus you get to actually try them on in a shop!

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm going to try both hotter and clarks in meadowhall later this week.

I decided paying a decent amount for good quality and comfort is better than primark shoes which would leave me in pain and buying another pair within a month!

Also consider insoles with arch supports if you are going to be on your feet all day?

Oh would that really help? Il definitely try them, my feet seem to hurt/blister and get sore really easy

If they don't help, you can take them out, but if you need &/or want arch support, they're a godsend!

My daughter recently bought some black flats in Clarks from their Softwear range, reckons they are the most comfortable shoes she's ever had. She's worked several 12 hour shifts waitressing in them, no bother.

Hotter are good but I now get really comfortable black flats from Shoezone - got a pair of loafers AND a pair of ankle boots for the sum total of £38. They won't last for ever but they'll get me through this winter.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Ecco shoes - they do a soft range that feels like you are wearing your slippers... I don't wear anything else these days!
