Just looking at details and it doesn't come with a charger FYI. They have it listed as £12.99 if people need to buy one.

Even the new one doesn't have a charger- as in one to stick in a wall socket- for those of us without an actual laptop/PC

Any generic usb plug-in charger will do - which you may already have if you have a smartphone. Kindles usually (I think) come with a charging/synching lead, just not the 3 pin plug bit.

Many retailers (and many consumers too!) do like to make you think you need a new plug-in charger with every new device but as most are standard usb types it is often unnecessary.

But if you don't have a smartphone or a laptop/pc you may need to buy one (though you must be reading this on something?).

Ipad :P so don't need the kindle anyway, but I'd have expected that to come with, so thought it was worth a mention.
