    Hi everyone
I wanted to thank you all for the kind, positive and motivating replies :) I did read them all at the time and they were really encouraging.
I think I really got myself down last month but then me and hubby decided to make some positive steps forward. I have spoken to the mortgage lender and have the forms for a repayment mortgage which feels great and a real step forward to a new beginning. Hubby starts a new job in the new year now that we know we are not completely dependent on his current wage, hopefully this will make him happier too.
We talk about a holiday and having celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with tesco vouchers at prezzo :D we are going to have our first holiday in years as a belated anniversary celebration.
Finally... I have only just checked my Stepchange account today, the first time since I posted this thread.
It really is funny how I have felt worse this last month than I have done in the last 5 years, maybe it was the realisation I had wasted half my marriage in such a mess and I turn 30 soon.

What an achievement. You've paid off nearly £50k in five years!! God help your mortgage, it's not going to survive long if you keep on like that! lol.

You should get an award for what you've done, seriously! amazing!

You have made fantastic progress Jules, a big well done.

I have arrived at a similar point of debt and feel its a struggle too. I've never been good at finishing things off.:o I have found it really helpful to be part of the pay off all debt by Xmas challenge.

Perhaps everyone at a similar level should have a race......ready, steady go:p:rotfl:

You can do it. Keep going.:T

  • You are an inspiration! Two weeks ago 10k (including 7k of CCs) was insurmountable to me but stories like yours make me believe I can do it. In a weird way it makes me want to do it even more, I want to be one of you amazing people who took on debt and won. I want to be strong and disciplined and a hero to people like me just starting the journey. I realise that sounds a bit sycophantic but it's from the heart.
