Halifax mortgage application

Hello there,
I wonder if anyone can help me in my time of stress?!:(
I'm applying for a Halifax mortgage and I'm wondering when they carry out the credit check. I have stupidly missed a £20 credit card payment and it has generated a late payment indicator on my account.
I think the credit card companies send the info to the credit agencies at the end of the month but I'm now worried sick that we get refused because if it. Can anyone advise?
Many thanks,
Claire

They check at the time you apply.
If they have to verify any further information it's likely that they'll re-check again prior to offer.
Your slip up may not sink you, but it won't help.0 -
I had hoped that they would check right away and that would be it. Do you know if it takes a long time for the credit report to come back through?
I'm gutted at the stupid mistake I've made. If they ask for further clarification on anything at all do they definitely check again before releasing the money? Would I get a chance to explain it was a stupid mistake?0 -
Halifax soft searched 3 times'. Offer, full app and before releaseDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Halifax have an open credit search where they can check at any time.
If you are dealing with a broker you should let them know about the situation.
A £20 missed payments is more likely to be error than financial hardship so I wouldn't worry too much.I am a Mortgage Broker

Thanks for the advice everyone. Fingers crossed it all goes okay
I've let the Financial Adviser know of the slip up and he told me not to worry but that's easy for him to say!
