1p Items Amazon (SE K800i)

Searching for a cheap price of car charger and leather case (I previously bought both for my k700i for £3 delivered and it was good quality but cant remember the online merchant! :(), I came across amazon.

Anyways, this looks like a misprice

K800i SONY ERICSSON CAR CHARGER FOR MOBILE PHONE http://www.amazon.co.uk/K800i-ERICSSON-CHARGER-MOBILE-PHONE/dp/B000M3K4G0 £0.01

SONY ERICSSON K800i CRYSTAL HARD CASE MOBILE PHONE http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000LXW8FG/ref=ord_cart_shr/026-9077956-1062057?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A3VZCEUATY9LOX £0.01

SONY ERICSSON K800i MOBILE PHONE 3.5mm HEADPHONE JACK AUDIO ADAPTO http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000NF7N8Y/ref=ord_cart_shr/026-9077956-1062057?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A8EC87LRZ59PA £0.01

It says its in stock but doesnt say its 2nd hand.

With P&P, it still might be a cheap deal

Shopping Tips
Don't spend five pounds to dry clean a shirt. Donate it to the charity shop instead. They'll clean it and put it on a hanger. Next morning buy it back for two pounds.

Car charger and case come to £4.50 each with packaging

    Headphone jack £10 with packaging

Same as Ebay, put P&P up to fool you into thinking you have got the product for a bargain. Nice try though.

It is sold by a trader that means that with p&p the price gets bumped up beyond the price you would pay in a pound shop for the same item.

Mainly the bargains on Amazon are the ones that Amazon supply direct not from their marketplace sellers.

The postage rates are set by Amazon not the traders. It is very high for these types of items that have a very low weight but in contrast people selling haevy books get paid far less for postage than it costs.

This is because of Amazons' system of calculating postage. Unless you are a Pro-Merchant the postage on the Amazon Marketplace is set by Amazon at rates higher than their own postage charges. Sellers cannot change them. Amazon then take a hefty cut from the postage charge as commission so its not always a clear case of a seller ripping people off on postage.

Thats why if you look at feedback for Marketplace sellers it will often say something like ' charged me £4 when it only cost them £1.50 to post ' The seller has no control over that postal charge and actually only receives a proportion of the charge made to the customer by Amazon for postage. The fact the buyer is buying something at say 1p is often overlooked!

I think Amazon should change their postal structure for the Marketplace to allow all sellers to set their own postage fees, like eBay.

Sony Ericsson car chargers and other compatible makes are available in Lidl this week for £1.99. They stock all modern phone connections, not the old models as you'd expect from such a cheap deal!

There is no Lidl where I live but this week I am working in Leatherhead and fortunately there is a Lidl close by. I will check it out, thanks.
