Evidence - Santander Abbey

This sounds very familiar
We spent three weeks sending Abbey every piece of information they asked for and in the end they would only lend 80% of the AIP.
We never even got to the survey stage which made our vendor very twitchy as they have been let down before.
We were going on holiday so decided to bite the bullet and start again with Natwest. All done and dusted in 2 weeks including survey and offer letter. Only needed screenshot of deposit accounts to seal the deal (ironically Abbey wouldn't accept a screenshot even though all our money is in Santander!!)
They also took into account our credit cards (santander) which are paid off each month but had a balance when they did the credit search. This then reduced our affordability!!
Moral of the story is stay clear of santander (or don't use your cards for a couple of months).
We ended up with a 3yr fix instead of a 2 yr fix at the same rate so may have done us a favour.
Apologies for the rant, just wanted to warn other people
cheers
