Moving house

Hey, i'm moving house on the 15th and I was wondering if I should start using my new address when comping or wait till nearer the time? after I move I won't have access to this house and there isn't anyone moving in behind us as the landlord is moving away and plans to sell. the royal mail redirection costs 42.00. but then I won't have access to my new address till the 15th as it's in another county. Decisions!

I don't think you will find the perfect solution for this one. I would check the end date on every comp carefully. Any that finish close to your move date or later, obviously use your new address. Any finishing earlier mean making a guess re delivery date should you win. But on the whole, perhaps this is one of those where you just have to accept that the chances are that you may well miss a prize or two.

What is comforting is that anything mega expensive would almost definitely need a signature. Hopefully, most come with a WEM, so you can quickly write back re your situation.

I moved nearly a year ago, and I admit, I still sometimes wonder what lovelies the new occupants received in my name :mad:

I moved about three months ago or so. We own the apartment we lived at though and currently let it out. My tenant usually tells me whether we have any post or not however, its only been junk so far. No wins. I was going to re-direct my post, glad I didn't now though as it would have been a waste of money!!

Thanks guys, I guess as my mum would say it's a case of six and half a dozen! I think i'll comp by end date from now till I move and change my add a week before I move to hedge my bets. at least i'll be settled in in time for the advents :-) x
