Following these guidelines:

What happens when the employer doesn't follow this? I.e. I had a meeting with my employer to discuss it but they haven't actually informed me of a decision.
Unfortunately I presume it can't be automatically approved if they don't give you a decision within 14 days?

So there's no penalty as such if they ignore these rules/guidelines?
Just a bit annoyed about it all as the reason given for refusal in my discussion with my manager was 'I don't want to set a precedent', clearly not a valid business reason at all...
But I haven't got it in writing from HR yet, I chased them yesterday.Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -

Your manager is being silly, allowing it to you doesn't create a precedent as each case is decided on its own merits.
And the penalty is being taken to a tribunal so overall...not to likelyDon't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
Finally received a decision in the post from HR, 67 days after the meeting compared to the 14 days they say it will take. Have made a complaint to HR today :mad:Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0
