Hi.
me and my wife are thinking about getting a mortgage with a 25% deposit, we're both in full time employment but my wife's contract is fixed-term for a year at a school which has been now been renewed for the 3rd year running. My main worry is the CCJ which iv'e had back in june 2008 and was paid off in full dec. 2008. What are our chances of getting a mortgage.
Will be grateful with any advice. Thanks.

You should have the majority of lenders available to you due to the age and amount of the CCJ.
It might be worth speaking to a broker so they can discount the lenders who wouldnt look at this but alternatively you can call up the lenders and speak to them yourself. Either way that alone will not be enough to stop you getting a mortgage.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Yeah, the odd one will have an issue, but most will be pretty relaxed with that size of deposit, small CCJ satisfied almost five years ago.I am a mortgage broker.
