hello there im after a bit of advise my x scamed £32,000 from benifits 8 year ago now my problem is that i have moved address 12 months ago from the address where i lived with her to my new address where i live with my partner of 5 years and my 3 year old daughter now i recived a letter at my current property from hmrc in my xs name saying that she hasnt been sticking to payments that she set up now she has no connection with my new address so i think that she has set this up at my new address to get out of paying her debt of £10772.72 i have contacted hmrc but they wont really talk to me about it because of the data protection act so im going to go to the police to see what they can do any advice would be really appreciated thanks for reading this

hi, have you checked your credit file to see if you are, in fact, financially linked to her?

If its not in your name, and HMRC say you are not financially linked, then don't worry about it, its your ex`s problem to solve not yours, if you were a tax payer at your old address, which I assume you were, that's how they have traced you through an old connection with you, if there not asking you for money, then bin it and carry on with your life.:cool:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
