Oh that's very sad Thrifty :( We have been very Lucky. The LEA here were (still are) difficult to deal with at times but I have nothing but praise for the fantastic support he received all the way through primary school. I couldn't fault it, the staff were wonderful.

He had a really lovely TA who had been there for years and was always fighting the school, when my nephew got upset she got upset and then she retired and the school refused to replace her. The school was very focused on exam results. In the end my sister moved him to a different school and what a difference that made they had a chill out room which was perfect for him as he gets frustrated a lot and there was bean bags and disco lights and books for them to read unfortunatley he has now started at high school and we're back to square one! I do think this side of things in school and alternative learning needs to be looked at massively, I cant learn from reading a book but I can learn from doing the stuff, I think they need to focus less on exam results and more on life skills i'm not saying exams arent important but thats just not right for some kids. Anyhow hope everybody votes for this good cause.

I'm trying to stop lurking and actually post on here but 2 small children, housework and feeling a bit shy keep stopping me! I've sent OH out to get some tea towels to replace our old ones that need throwing away (thanks for mentioning them TS) :j

The website says October but nothing more definite. Looking forward to it opening though :)

It`s nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.
The world is full of people throwing stones at us. Its what you do with them that counts. Build a wall or build a bridge.
