Fairclaire I think I would write my own letter of explanation too, sorry FloFlo but some teachers do jump to conclusions but definitely think the teacher should get to see it.
Your DS has expressed himself so well. :A0 -
It's a little black box that contains apps and links to the internet through your wifi - you attach to your TV to add a range of new channels. If you already have a Smart TV you probably (possibly) don't need it as your TV probably has most of what it had to offer (apart from it can stream music from your iPhone etc onto your TV).

Thank you, that is very helpful. I just have freeview but probably don't need this. Probably have enough gadgets!
Now why didn't google give me a simple explanation like this?!0 -

but the latest piece of material for my book
I tried scanning this but it's hard to read so Ive typed it word for word
Background: DS2 was given a piece of homework to do this weekend. His teacher INSISTED it be hand written, even though DS1s writing is illegible and it's very time consuming for him. He was really stressed about it as he had to write a whole A4 sideI told him just to do it on the PC and I'd write a letter of explanation to the teacher concerned.
He thought I said HE had to write a letter of explanation......so he did.......
Mr xxxxxxx
Here is my homework. It's well researched like you asked and well written. It is typed yes typed and not written. As if you know I have a statement and I don't think you have read it. If you do it read it you will see on page 3 on the third column it says xxxxx should, wherever possible be allowed to use IT equipment for written tasks. You have given me this homework to do at home of course that's what homework means. Well I have IT equipment here and it's possible for me to use it so I have.
If I write my homework it will take me 4 times as long to do and you won't be able to read it anyway. Then we are both wasting time. If you are still not understanding my problem with writing you might try wearing a boxing glove or a big skeeying glove and try writing a page with it. That's what writing with a pencil feels like to my hand. Phone my mum if there's a problem
Im thinking I might just leave it with his homework??
I LOVE skeeying:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
He's obvious 'not got a clue' has he? But he'll learn!:D Much like what I've been like (before I knew) a teensy little bit. My 'problem' with that is it seems to me he is too much telling other people their job - it's written in too direct a tone and if I were writing this, I'd be waaayyy more cautious nowadays, knowing what I do (from hard experience of getting every single thing, in turn, initially wrong over the years). You really have to be so delicate, most people I find are way too easy to react badly if you're not. (Or maybe I just think about these things too deeply.) Ahh..complying with social conventions and standards is just so exhausting at times!:rotfl::rotfl:
He's entitled to 'reasonable adjustments' though (don't get me onto this - it's one of my other current special topics of obsessiveness at the moment!!:rotfl::rotfl:) and teacher ought to have read it and allow him to work using his computer. Perhaps a short, kind word from you with his teacher would do the trick?
Or you could leave it with his homework:rotfl:. Why not?:cool: He's got the statement itself which itself explains why he's put his letter of explanation in that way. I wouldn't have a problem with it - but then that's just me, understanding things all rationally (which 'everyone else' doesn't!!:D).0 -
