I personally feel nothing is excessive as this is perfectly legal & above board. I am trying to get maybe 3 -5 years' worth of stuff but only stuff we'll actually use.

Have thought about the black icing, but it doesn't look black enough, would have to add some extra black colourant, which might in turn make it more shiny.

Does it turn out black after a couple of days? We went to Hobbycraft to get the blue, but they had run out of black. Turns our our local T has black but it doesn't look very black in the pack. Just concerned what it would look like after a couple of days, making it Wednesday, actual birthday is Friday.
