From the moment we arrived they plied us with Wine and drinks, followed by a very interesting (short) presentation about the different breads + pastries, then copious amounts of samples of bread, dips, pastries, cake etc. Was a very interesting tour of the bakery at the end as well, which was quite an eye opener in terms of how much actual 'baking' they do (I assumed a lot was bought in frozen and just defrosted and then baked - turns out the vast majority is made from scratch). Short questionnaire to fill out followed by a very generous goody bag pretty much just like the image above.

This is probably one of the best freebies in the history of D/S freebies. When we arrived, we were educated on the types of breads, grains and flours. We then had samplers of Mediterranean bread, sweet bread and others with oils infused with either chillis, garlic or basil. We had olives and cherry peppers stuffed with cheese. The whole session was run by enthusiastic Tesco's staff. The same bakery staff who make their daily fresh bread and what was refreshing was how passionate they are about the bread they make on a daily basis. Half way through they came upstairs with an amazing brioche based bread and butter pudding topped with fresh raspberries. This was accompanied with the other pastry desserts, such as cinnamon roles and chocolate pastries. The people that arrived were a diverse group, mostly local who shopped at that specific Tesco's (Bow) and everyone was in a really good mood - who wouldn't be in this atmosphere. Some people brought kids along who seemed to enjoy the food or just colouring in. There was even a quiz! At the end, we were given a hamper full of goodies - the specific goodies are in fact to let you recreate the amazing Raspberry Brioche Bread and Butter pudding, hence if you see the picture above, there is the brioche, the raspberries, eggs, butter and raspberry jam and so on.I went with other half and we both had a bag each - that is probably the weeks shopping done and in total was in excess of £30! Kudos to Tescos trying to engage with people face to face and trying to make a difference. If you go, please do give positive feedback, as they may extend this to other departments as well..
Sounds like a fabulous evening... I hope they extend it to other stores. Sadly my nearest participating t is 30 miles away:(0 -

Something wrong here, on a.com the single one is £3.78 and in the 2 for £6, the triple is £8 and not in the 2 for £6. On msm the single picture and description is there but the price is £8 but shows comparing to T at £3.0
