Hanging curtains over doors

I put one up last winter, bought a simple wooden curtain rail from Argos in white to match the wood and frame of the door... It worked a treat, just sawed it down to size, and my dad fitted it for me! The curtain is going up again soon for this coming winter!

I put up a heavy (free, scavanged) velvet curtain over my front door today. Using a portiere, not the cheapest way of doing it but having attached curtains to the door/frame directly before, its def worth the effort for frequently used doors!
