Hi, our BR date (the time when we will have the funds to file) is getting closer, however so are the creditors, we probably still need about 6 weeks, how to best fend them off, we last paid to any of them on the 1st July. Any thoughts? Thankyou.:(

How long until you go BR?
And do any creditors have a CCJ at all?

Hi Fermi, it could be 6 to 8 weeks before we have the funds for BR, we don't have any ccj's yet, but we are now 3 months behind with everything. Thanks for prompt reply.0

Well, to be honest you could just ignore them.
In 6-8 weeks, there is not time for them to do anything significant. Even if they were to apply for a CCJ tomorrow (unlikely), by the time it got round to any possible type of enforcement your BR would be rendering the CCJ useless.
You could tell them that you are seeking debt advice and can they hold any action, but often that is just ignored.
It is stressful, but once you realise that apart from being annoying there is not much creditors can do, then the wait is not quite so bad.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I wasn't able to pay for around 8 months before I filed for bankruptcy, I found that my creditors blew a lot of hot air but not much else!
I found the letters came in cycles 1. Have you forgotten to pay? 2. If you don't pay we will go to court, sell your children (exaggeration lol) 3. Oh, poor you must be in dire straits, can we help? Then the debt would be sold on and the cycle would start again.
Just unplug your phone for now. With the letters, just open them to make sure they are not court papers then stick them in a bag for now, you will need the reference numbers from them when you fill in your forms!
I didn't get any court papers but if you have you need to fill them in, the court will be a lot more reasonable than the debt collectors!

WoW! Thanks folks, this forum is too much for the movies. You are all so caring.:)0

Just ignore them - all bets are off once you've decided to go BR. Communicating with them will literally be a waste of your energy. It will take them much longer than six weeks to enforce anything through the courts.
Just focus on becoming a BR expert.0
