Since the hedge trimmer fiasco, I am boycotting B&Q and going elsewhere. They obviously hope it will drum up trade, so I'm spending my money elsewhere.

No and they don't go together very well either, well that's what i found.I had to take 4 back(i got 6) as they didn't fit with either the door not shutting or in the bedroom them being higher than the window sill:D

The other half wanted them palms aswell so i picked up 2 of one and 1 of the other but they went through at normal price and they had to override it and enter them for a fiver.

I managed to grab a rad cover yesterday......been thinking about getting one for ages, so this was the impetus to actually stop dithering and get one.

Looks good in my opinion ( I have been looking for ages !) esp for £12.xx which is what mine went thru at.
BUT must admit fitting it together.... RUBBISH

Went back in store yesterday to see if it was ME doing it wrong.
I finally got it to 'CLIP' together by unscrewing the chrome peg that sticks out a bit. I think they must have been screwed in too far, or the instructions ( which are dire) doesn't explain well enough.

Hope this help others who may be struggling ( or was it just me  )use a flat blade screwdriver to UNSCREW the peg by half a turn.

I have tried my now complete rad cover round the house, and if I had better diy skills I would buy a few more, but they would need some work to get them to fit behind doors, around pipes etc.
Still quite a few left in my store, so tempted to get some more and get a carpenter to 'help me' adapt them to my other rooms ;)

Looks a darn sight more attractive than the radiator !!
  • Are these offers only available on that friday or do they run until they are sold out. Wish I had read this thread earlier would have really liked a couple of palms. Never mind.

I think they run until sold out as i can't remember reading anything about it being a one day only sale?
Things might last a bit longer as i remember finding the lawnmower when i was walking around and noticed it wasn't showing the reduced price at all and was still £99.99 so people unless they know what they are looking for would never know.

Whilst you are in B&Q, you might like to look over their MIG welders if you are in the market for one. I found out today that they are changing supplier and the Cosmo ones are on run-out over the next 14 weeks. My local B&Q in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen was selling the 130 AMP MIG Gas/Gasless for £100 instead of the usual £150. Only seem to be reducing the display stock it seems at the moment.

bit of a specialist item lol, surely with the quality of modern cars these days its pretty rare for a standard consumer to need any type of welding gear, might be better off hireing one.
