    They can employ debt collectors in the UK to try and get the money though but as you've said you own nothing so they shouldn't bother doing that.

    Nah, assuming the OP is actually liable then the other driver (or their insurer) will be able to get the OP's insurer from his car details and then the insurer will have to pay.

    If this happens then the OP will have to repay the costs to his insurer as they specifically excluded the 'ring from cover on his policy
