Mortgaging house to pay for live in Carers

My Mum is 75 and has Dementia. She is currently in a Care Home pending a Best Interests decision to see if she remains there or goes home with live in Carers.
If she goes home money will need to be raised secured on her 200k house. What type of finance scheme would this be, would it be an Equity release scheme and how much is likely to be released? It's my Brother who will be dealing with this but as Joint Attorney I feel I should know the score with this so Amy help greatly appreciated, many thanks.
