Digital photo frame,bday present idea £50 to spend - help

Pleas help me, I've just come back off hols and need to buy a digital photo frame for a birthday 1 week away. Found the ebuyer deal on the 12th, unfortunatly it was one day after google checkout expired and they all sold out now! I cant believe it!!! So I really need some help to find a cheap one, hopefully £35 and under!

Or if I cant find one cheap enough I was thinking maybe a digital radio, but a fancy looking, sort of retro one, max price £40ish.

Or a portable dvd player? cheap sat nav?

He did want the samsung x830 but cheapest I can find that is £85 and in pink :(

The deal is I got about £50 to spend so anything thats a good bargain around that price? ppppplease help me!

    I have been looking at these too, not completed my research yet but I found one on Redsave (via Quidco for 15% extra discount) for under £35, however you will have to look carefully at the deal as it involves signing up for a pass which you pay monthly for, it says that you can cancel without penalty but please check it out before you buy!

  • Thanks for the reply! I've had a look at that redsave and it seems alot of hassle, plus with delievery costs it works out £40 and I can find it a few places for that price.

    They have one in Jessops for £39.99 and with a 10%off code and quidco I can get it for £35 but theres delievery costs ontop of that :(
    But jessops have two for £39.99, one is a simple version and the other has a remote, plays mp4 and has sound, which is a bit of a bargain I think but it only comes in pink with hearts on it :(

    So I'm still stuck! Please is there anyone else who knows of some good deals? for around £50, or a digital photoframe delievered for around £35/30ish?????

    Panic has set in now because there aren't many days left for delievery!

    I am also looking to buy a digital frame for a present. Anyone with experience of one can you recommend it? Likewise if you know any I shouldn't buy....

    Thanks!

    I've had a digital photo frame for a few years now and they're great once you know how to set it up.

    A few things to look out for;

    1) what type of memory card does it take? Mine has the option of a CF, SD, and Memory stick. I use all three, depending on whether its my camcorder or digital camera.

    2) Once you've mastered the basics of getting a slide show of your favourite pics, having something like video playback is a nice feature to have. Though you won't be using it all the time.. but its nice to have. For example;

    Recently on my kids bday party i had a camcorder set up in another room where the kids could go and record a bday message in front of the camcorder. A few minutes later i had it recorded on to the memory card and was playing it back on the photo frame. A nice little touch which had everyone talking for hours... plus with the kids on screen it has the aaaahhhh factor.

    Obviously outside decor (the frame) is up to you, but it should suit your room or whereever you intend to put it. More importantly is to ensure you have a good screen with a good set of options. Having a remote is brilliant as you're able to switch from one to another setting without having to be up close.

    I invested in the MemoryVue which at the time cost £100+.. i'm sure they are cheaper now.., but I would highly recommend it. Actually looking at a bigger option soon.
